BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PEOPLE'S
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS
The Board of Trustees was
formulated by by-laws first drafted in 1970.
These by-laws have been updated over the
past thirty years and now reflect requirements
of the Department of Health and Human Services
for "Federally Qualified Health Center"
program expectations. People's Board must
be representative of the communities it
serves. Fifty-one percent of the Board members
are patients of one of the centers. All
Board members serve without remuneration.
Meetings are once per month, on the fourth
Tuesday at 6 p.m.
People who live in the communities
of Greater Homewood, Govans, Pen Lucy, Rosemont,
Sandtown, Winchester, Washington Village, North
Anne Arundel County, Severn, Pioneer City
and Brooklyn Park are eligible
to join People's Board. The Annual Meeting,
held in October of each year, is the mechanism
by which new members are elected to the
Board. Interested parties should submit
their resumes to the Nominating Committee,
People's Community Health Centers, 2204
Maryland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21218.
A member of the committee will contact people
who submit their resumes for consideration.
Board members are asked to
participate in one Board committee function.
The Quality Improvement Committee, the Personnel
Committee, the Finance Committee, the Fundraising
Committee, the Capital Campaign Committee, the
nominating and governance committee and the Ryan
White Advisory Board conduct meetings on an as needed
basis, usually monthly. Position and committee
descriptions are available upon request.
